Live Each Moment

I may never see tomorrow,
there is no written guarantee.
And things that happened yesterday,
belong to history

I cannot predict the future,
I cannot change the past
I have just the present moment,
I must treat it as my last

I must use this moment wisely,
for it will soon pass away
And be lost to me forever,
as part of yesterday

I must exercise compassion,
help the fallen to their feet.
Be a friend unto the friendless,
make an empty life complete

The unkind things I do today,
may never be undone
And friendships that I fail to win,
may never more be won

I may not have another chance
on bended knee to pray
And thank God with humble heart,
for giving me this day

How much do we think about each moment God has given us? Do we cherish each day and live it as if it was our last?
I want to live each day enjoying each moment, not wasting the time I have been given.....

I want to remember moments I have with my children

God speaking to me in the morning

See my students overcoming difficulties and achieving

Answers to prayer

A smile that makes someones day

An encouraging word to lift a friend in need

Fun with my family

There are so many things we can do with a moment and often we underestimate the little things we do in our life. Take the time to think about what you can do today with a moment.....

Moments are daily opportunities

just thinking...

loads of things have been on my mind this month and I feel as if i need to write them down so that I can look back at the thought process later.
How to put it into words...mmmm...I think it could be summed up as a what are my priorities?
Last week in the ladies Bible study we were talking about going further with God...not being satisfied with where we are at. Beth Moore used the analogy of either we are in the lowlands with God or we could go up the mountain and experience greater things....
Two things struck me about that
1. Going up the mountain is alot harder than staying where I am
2. Tops of mountains are extreme places...extreme wind, extreme weather, harsh hard conditions which often take me to the limits of myself but the view is awsome and cannot be compared to anything.
So if I take this picture of my relationship with God...am I prepared to put in the work, have difficulties and ultimately *get* this amazing view/expereince of God or am I going to be content with staying in my comfort zone of where I am at with God.
One thing I love about my church is that there are people prepared to challenge me in my walk with God and encourage me to go further.
I don't know where you are at but can I say this what ever you think about God... He thinks the world of you and is desparate for you to know Him better.
Why not take that *next step up the mountain* to get to know Him better. Pick up the Bible, ask Him to speak to you through it and read...you will be amazed what will happen!

Great Quote...

I really feel I have neglected this blog!! I have often had things to say and then not sat down to put them down into words so, I am going to try to do this more often. This morning a quote that Mark said in his sermon really spoke to me.

"God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him," John Piper

I loved this...so often we strive to be a certain way bc that is how we feel God wants us to be, or we listen to what others say. we think that the things around us are what brings happines and satisfaction when, in reality, it is only God who can fill up pur lives and make them meaningful. When we are satisfied with God then wow! we just reflect God in our lives, we become more like he wants us to be more like Him.

I want to be like that!!

Do you ever get the feeling...

God is trying to tell you something? I sat in church this morning and what came up on the screen? 'Out of the comfort zone' Mmm.....
Mark was speaking from Deuteronomy 1v1-8 about moving on. the Israelites were camped at the mountain...... and God wanted them to go into Canaan. They had experienced great things there but God had more for them. In order for them to experience these new things God wanted them to move.
God is always speaking to us but we need to learn to listen., to not be distracted from what is going on around but tune into what God is saying.
We need to be prepared to leave a place in our life, or a place where God has blessed us in order for Him to give us new blessings.
(extracts from my notes of Mark LS sermon)
It got me thinking back to this mountain/valley idea. On a mountain we experience wonderful things with God but if we stay there too long it becomes mundane ....ordinary ...everyday. We nee to go down the mountain into the valley and climb up the other side, experiencing all sorts of new lessons with God, some times of testing and working through issues...climbing up the next mountain and then experiencing a whole new view of God! New wind in your face, new views, new direction and new heights of fellowship and understanding of God. We don't get there by staying on the first mountain and letting mediocrity be our motto.
Aim higher with God this year...and don't sit still Then you will really see what God can do...go on...give it a try!

Psalm 139

Love this psalm...God knowing everything about me but still loving me. Met with some friends for coffee and we read this out. What an amazing God who knows all that this day will bring and He has promised that if I have any anxious thoughts, stresses and worries all I need to do is bring them to Him. Amazing

Comfort Zone

I know I haven't posted for awhile but it doesnt'mean nothing is happening. I was at the ladies prayer meeting at church on tuesday and wow!! I am still processing everything but the over riding message for me was leave what is comfortable and take risks for God. To be continued....
